Die Bekanntgabe der Shortlist ist für den 9. September angesetzt; der Gewinner des diesjährigen Booker Prize wird am 14. Oktober bekannt gegeben. Der bedeutendste britische Literaturpreis ist mit 50000 Pfund (63?000 Euro) dotiert und wird jedes Jahr für einen Roman aus den Commonwealth-Ländern oder aus Irland vergeben.
