IFPDA Book Award für Achim Gnann

Der Preis wird Achim Gnann für den Ausstellungskatalog "Parmigianino und sein Kreis. Druckgraphik aus der Sammlung Baselitz" (Ostfildern: Hatje Cantz, 2007) zugesprochen. Achim Gnann, Universitäts-Dozent und Kurator für italienische Kunst des 14. bis 19. Jahrhunderts an der Wiener Albertina, ist der fünfte Empfänger des mit 2.000 Dollar dotierten IFPDA Book Award. Die Preisverleihung fand im Rahmen der IFPDA Print Fair in New York statt. Allan Stone, Chairman des IFPDA Grants Committee, begründet die Wahl: "Creating an invaluable catalogue that illustrated prints related to one of the most important, if not the most important Italian artist of the 16th century, … highlighting the history of collecting itself, combining the album assembled for the Spencer Family, now owned by painter and sculptor, Georg Baselitz, and the holdings of the Albertina." Das ausgezeichnete Werk ist das erste in deutscher Sprache, das den 2004 begründeten IFPDA Book Award erhält.
