Der Londoner Antiquar Peter Harrington hat einen Account "Groundbreaking Science Books" bei Pinterest eröffnet. Diese Seite, deren Popularität zurzeit rasant ansteigt, erklärt sich selbst wie folgt: "Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can browse pinboards created by other people to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and share their favorite recipes." Lässt sich offensichtlich für alle möglichen Dinge einsetzen...

Dazu passt die Nachricht, dass der internationale Antiquariatsverband ILAB soeben eine (kostenlose) App für iPhone und Android herausgebracht hat (eine Blackberry-Version folgt im April, so die ILAB).

Und schließlich: Bauman Rare Books sucht per Stellenausschreibung einen Antiquar / eine Antiquarin für sein seit vier Jahren bestehendes Ladengeschäft in Las Vegas. Erwartungen an die Bewerber (gibt es im deutschen Antiquariatsbuchhandel überhaupt Jobs, die ähnlich ausgeschrieben werden könnten?): "We seek an articulate, well-read, energetic individual for a long-term, full-time bookseller position at our Las Vegas gallery. Experience with antiquarian books is not crucial, but a strong liberal arts background is required. ... Excellent verbal and social skills are essential in this position to communicate effectively by phone, in writing, and in person. Applicants must be comfortable selling in a results-driven, luxury retail environment."
