Da es kaum veröffentlichte Zahlen aus dem Bereich des Online-Antiquariatshandels gibt, sei hier ein zentraler Abschnitt der Ausführungen Allinsons zitiert: "[…] following the completion of the full search capability of Bookfinder [www.bookfinder.com] and other search engines, orders through the site had increased significantly and in fact had doubled. Since May 2008, that progress has been maintained, and average monthly sales have, in the past twelve months almost doubled again. In cash terms, sales through the site have totalled £87,000+, a saving in commission of about £20,000 had these books been purchased through one of the commission charging sites. This reflects only books sold and recorded through the site ordering process. There is anecdotal evidence that a substantial number of sales have been achieved by the site, but not recorded."
Juni 2008).
